Benton Veterans Village Opens in Santa Rosa
JL Construction recently celebrated the opening of a new residence for formerly-homeless veterans in Santa Rosa.
Benton Veterans Village is an innovative rehabilitation of an existing 1940’s firehouse in Santa Rosa to create six new apartments for chronically homeless veterans. The design is compatible with the appearance of the older firehouse. The development is a combination of new construction, comprised of 6 one-bedroom units in a two-story, 3-over-3-unit apartment building and rehabilitation of the firehouse.
Benton Veterans Village will provide safe and affordable, service-rich housing to chronically homeless veterans in a setting of security and independence within downtown Santa Rosa. The project was developed by Community Housing Sonoma County (CHSC) and designed by Fritz Architects.
