New 2-Story Design-Build Modular Classroom Building Opens with Fanfare in Fremont
The new 2-Story Design-Build Modular Classroom at Warm Springs Elementary School opened with plenty of days to spare before school started at the Fremont Unified School District.
The new classroom building, built with green materials, is comprised of 12 general classrooms featuring large view windows to provide the best natural lighting, and superior acoustics with insulated walls to reduce sound intrusion and reverberation.
Each classroom is equipped with mechanical systems that filter and circulate the air, designed to provide the optimal health and learning environment for students. The design saved a heritage Oak tree in the courtyard and also provided the Warm Springs Wolves a new lunch shelter and an outdoor learning court.
JL Modular, Inc. was the design-build contractor in association with WLC Architects and Byrens/Kim Design Works. By working closely as a team with the District staff the project was built on budget and on time.
