JL Construction took on a challenging modular design-build project at a charter school campus in San Jose, CA, that required the construction of both one- and two-story classroom buildings. The two-story building, made with a structural steel frame on a permanent foundation, includes 18 classrooms, a state-of-the-art learning lab, an elevator, and modern restrooms. Meanwhile, the single-story building, crafted with a wood-frame shear-wall design, houses essential school administration offices and storage facilities.
The total area of both buildings is 24,000 square feet. This project highlights JL Construction’s capability to provide tailored educational environments that combine structural integrity with the flexibility needed for a growing school community. The use of modular construction not only expedited the project timeline but also ensured a high-quality finish, meeting the specific needs of the school while enhancing the overall campus functionality.
