JL Construction and JL Modular partnered to create a state-of-the-art educational environment for a K-8 school, focusing on both indoor and outdoor learning spaces. The project included a single-story, 7,200 square foot classroom building featuring six spacious 1,100 square foot STEM classrooms. These classrooms are designed with extensive daylighting, promoting energy efficiency, and include adjacent outdoor learning areas to extend educational opportunities beyond the classroom walls. The use of JL Modular’s DSA prechecked design ensured a streamlined approval process, enabling the project to proceed quickly and efficiently.
In addition to the classroom building, the project introduced an 8,600 square foot multipurpose building that serves as a hub for various school activities. This facility includes a 5,000 square foot assembly room, a fully equipped warming kitchen, changing rooms, restrooms, and overhead doors that open directly to the playgrounds, allowing for flexible use of space. The surrounding site work further enhanced the school’s infrastructure by converting a field into two outdoor basketball courts, constructing a new concrete amphitheater, and adding a play structure and lunch area, fostering a comprehensive learning and recreational environment.
This project underscores JL Construction’s commitment to providing innovative, efficient, and community-focused educational facilities, ensuring that schools are equipped to meet the needs of modern learning environments in California.
