SRJC Petaluma STEM Classroom Building Underway
Santa Rosa Junior College recently held a ceremonial groundbreaking for a new STEM classroom building at its Petaluma campus. JL Construction, in a design-build partnership with JL Modular and Brokaw Design, has begun construction with a planned opening in 2020.
The building will feature three state-of-the-art science classrooms plus extensive outdoor learning spaces. The classrooms will be used for studying chemistry and anthropology. There will be an outdoor classroom and an edible garden, and dig area for anthropology students to study forensics.
JLC was selected, along with JL Modular and Architect Brokaw Designs, following a rigorous design-build competition. The modular approach by JLC ensures that the project will be built quickly for less than conventional construction.
