Alisal Community School Modernization Breaks Ground
Alisal Union School District celebrated the modernization of its oldest campus with a formal groundbreaking ceremony. JL Construction is building a new administration building, new kindergarten classrooms and reconfigured dropoff and parking area.
The ceremony featured the school’s drumline group, colorguard, cheer team and Mariachi band. Arturo Durand, the AUSD Superintendent of Human Resources introduced speakers including Superintendent Jim Koenig; Citizens Bond Oversight Committee President Paul Ennis, Salinas city council member Tony Barrera and various dignitaries.
The first building is an Administration building which will serve as the campus entry. The building features offices for the administration plus one classroom and a teacher break room. The classroom building will add five new classrooms plus student restrooms. The third and fourth buildings are the new TK and Kindergarten buildings. There are four classrooms in one building plus a separate two classroom building.
JL Construction is working with architects In Studio Architecture and Ausonio Inc. as construction manager.
