West Marin School New Modular Classrooms
Location: Tomales, CA
Client: Shoreline Unified School District
Architect: Lemanski & Rockwell Architects

Shoreline Unified School District chose JL Modular to build a new music and math classroom building utilizing modular construction at the West marin School. The two buildings were built in just under two months over the summer to allow the school district to occupy the buildings for the new school year. The structure replaced two aging portables to give the school permanent classrooms that matched the aesthetics of the school and would last just as long.

The music building features a large 10-foot double door that opened to a small amphitheater to allow students to practice and perform just outside of the music room.

SCOE Community School
Location: Santa Rosa, CA
Client: Sonoma County Office of Education
Architect: Persinger Architects

The SCOE Community School is a new campus consisting of two new classroom wings built to form an interior courtyard and play area. JLM constructed the new buildings utilizing slab on grade modular buildings with a site built metal stud wall with custom curved track tops between each classroom to give the campus a Southwestern look. The landscaping was completed with palm trees, succulents, and desert tone pavers and plaster to complete the look.

The Community School included administrative offices, a warming kitchen, gymnasium, child care, and classrooms. The metal roofs had Solatubes for natural daylight and thin film solar panels to provide the majority of the school’s power. The project was built to LEED requirements, but certification was not pursued by the District.

Henry Hall Middle School Addition
Location: Corte Madera, CA
Client: Larkspur-Corte Madera School District
Architect: Lemanski & Rockwell Architects

JL Modular constructed two new modular buildings at Henry Hall Middle School containing over 9,000 square feet of new classrooms.
The uniqueness of this project is that the two buildings were constructed facing each other, and were then connected with aluminum storefront and a Kalwall skylight to create an interior corridor between the two classrooms. The classrooms had upper clerestory windows so that light from the corridor could filter into the classrooms.
